Green’s goes for Gold at the NEC

Green’s celebrated another gold-award winning day at the Foodex.

This April saw two members of the team take a selection of Green’s products up to be judged amongst butchers from all over Great Britain. The National Products Competition was hosted over two days at Foodex at the Birmingham NEC.

Green’s entered a selection of sausages, pies, bacon and ready-made products into the Competition run by the National Federation of Meat and Food Traders (NFMFT).

“Entering competitions like this regularly are important to us as a small business, it’s great to see your products against top butchers from around Great Britain and have conversations about what products other butchers are working on” said Chef Philip Cripps.

Not just a day for networking, Green’s came away with 2 category winners and 11 gold awards. Winning the burger category with the Beef Burger and the Bacon category with our own Cherry smoked dry cured back Bacon. Some of the gold awards also include our Pork, Cheddar and Spring Onion Sausage, Chicken Curry Pie and Lamb and Mint Burger.

Butcher Chris Cripps said about the result:

“We’re really happy to have 11 gold award products and 2 category winners; these competitions are always a team effort and it’s great to have our hard work and quality products recognised on such a big scale – we really did bring home the bacon!”
