Greens gets another taste of success

Greens gets another taste of success

If you want to find the country’s finest Chicken & Ham Pie or Beef Wellington you need look no further than the local Berkshire village of Pangbourne.

There you’ll find Green’s the Butchers, where three generations of butchers hand-make speciality meat products which came home with 15 Gold Awards at the recent National Meat Products Competition.

Nationwide independent craft butchers gathered at the two day show in Warwickshire to present their products to an experienced panel of judges, who assessed the entries for taste, texture, appearance and overall quality. Said Green’s Chef Philip Cripps: “We’re thrilled with the 15 gold awards and the two category winners are popular Greens products, so it was great to see them recognised at a national competition once again.”

Mr Cripps – who trained in France under the legendary French chef Paul Bocuse – developed a growing range of pastry products when he joined his father in law Royston Hine in the local Pangbourne business 25 years ago. His sons Christopher and Michael are also award winning members of the Greens staff, with Christopher regularly winning at competitions with his range of sausages. The team have consistently won major regional and national awards for their meat and meat products and continue to strive for more Gold awards.

Other Gold Award products from Green’s latest competition entries include:
Pork Sizzler Sausage
Venison Sausage
Lamb & Mint Speciality Burger
Chicken Wellington
Chicken Curry Pie
